Formel / Informel

"Tu" or "Vous"?

In French, we use two words to say “you”: tu and vous.
We do not use them in the same situations.

👉 “Vous” is used in formal situations:
at work, at school, or with people we do not know well.

Example:
“Comment allez-vous ?”

👉 “Tu” is used in informal situations:
with friends, family, and people we know well.

Example:
“Comment vas-tu ?”
