Demonstrative adjectives

In French, we use demonstrative adjectives to point to a specific person or thing.
They correspond to “this,” “that,” “these,” and “those” in English.
They agree with the gender (masculine or feminine) and the number (singular or plural) of the noun.
They always come before a noun.

👉 Demonstrative adjectives are always used with a noun:
Examples:
“Ce livre est intéressant.”
“Cet hôtel est moderne.”
“Cette maison est grande.”
“Ces fleurs sont belles.”

Common demonstrative adjectives are: ce, cet, cette, ces.

💡 Remember:
ce = masculine singular (before a consonant)
cet = masculine singular (before a vowel or silent h)
cette = feminine singular
ces = plural (masculine and feminine)
