Partitive Articles


In French, we use partitive articles to talk about an unspecified amount of something.

They are often used with food, drinks, or things we cannot count.


👉 Partitive articles are used before a non-countable noun:

Examples:

 « Je bois du café. »

« Elle mange de la salade. »


The most common partitive articles are: du, de la, de l’, des.
